Here's the past week's (give or take a few days) crop of blog carnivals (in no particular order)...

tng | 2007-06-24 10:49

Here's some quality blog carnivals for your Sunday reading pleasure.

Carnival of the Godless #68 can be found at The Uncredible Hallq

The 63rd meeting of The Skeptics' Circle took place at Relatively Science

Carnival of Space #8 took off from Universe Today

A brief note to blog carnival organizers too... It makes your carnivals much easier to find if you update your blogcarnival.com listings. They have feeds set up for each carnival so when you update blogcarnival.com, those of us who subscribe to the feeds for our favorite carnivals find out about them much quicker. That means more incoming links and wider exposure for your carnival.

Carnival of the Godless: The next edition of CotG is right here at Neural Gourmet on April 15Carnival of the Godless: The next edition of CotG is right here at Neural Gourmet on April 15We're all going to hell. Alon said so over at Abstract Nonsense where, despite having seen the light and renounced his heathen ways, he's currently hosting the 63rd Carnival of the Godless. So you know it's got to be true because God told him so (even if Alon's not quite sure which god). Head on over for your bi-weekly roundup of infidel blogging.

Speaking of which, the next Carnival of the Godless is right here on April 15. Use the handy blogcarnival.com submission form to send me any posts from a godless perspective that you'd like to see featured in CotG 64.

And as long as all you heathen bloggers are setting digits to keyboards, don't forget about Blog Against Theocracy this coming Easter weekend, April 6-8 (and hey, it's not like you've got church to go to). Blog Against Theocracy is a blogswarm organized by Blue Gal to highlight issues related to the separation of church and state. Check the Blog Against Theocracy blog and Blue Gal for more details. We're trying to get atheists and believers blogging on this topic as the establishment clause of the 1st Amendment is important to us all. So far the response has been great but we're trying to make this event so huge it can't be ignored. Help us out by spreading the word and don't forget to post something on those days.

A St. Patrick's day edition of Carnival of the Godless is up now at Black Sun Journal. As always, a lot of great topics under discussion on the net's best godless blogs. Quoting Black Sun:

Welcome to this edition of Carnival of the Godless, in rousing celebration of the death in 493 CE of that pagan-basher known as Patrick. Being of partly Irish heritage, I take exception to the canonization of a man who persecuted the druids and nature-worshipers in my ancestral country, burned books, chopped down sacred groves, and replaced authentic traditions with the eternal corruption of scripture.

So today, we’ll drive away the snakes of god-belief in his honor–let the games begin.

Carnival of the Godless #61 is available for your infidel reading pleasure at Hell's Handmaiden. This time out the theme is 'Things God Wants'. As always, CotG is just jam-packed with great blog posts, but if I had to pick two I'd recommend checking out Greg Laden's Why Scientists are NOT AS GOOD as Creationists and Austin Cline's Christianity as "Conscience and Soul" of the Democratic Party.

The 55th Carnival of the Godless has pitched its' blasphemous tent at Unscrewing the Inscrutable this bi-week. Infidel reading fun!

tng | 2007-02-05 14:17

OK, let's see if I can't get back into the swing of this blogging thing. Starting off, the 59th edition of Carnival of the Godless was posted yesterday at Aardvarchaeology. Have you been reading CotG while I've been shirking my blogging duties? No? Shame on you! Sure, you're not going to go to hell ('cause like the Xian god, it doesn't exist) but you've been depriving yourself of some of the best godless blogging around.

Secondly, this little blog carnival thing I do called Carnival of the Liberals was the featured carnival on blogcarnival.com yesterday. This is a brand-spanking-new feature at blogcarnival.com and I didn't get an e-mail on it until late in the day so I apologize for the post-hoc announcement. However, via this screen grab I actually had the foresight to take, you can see that Carnival of the Liberals #31 at Pollyticks.com was the featured carnival. Yay! way to go Blue Steel for putting together a great edition of CotL! Next up for CotL is The Greenbelt on Valentine's Day.

The Open Laboratory: The Best Writing On Science Blogs 2006: Anthologizing 50 of the best posts on science blogs. The Open Laboratory: The Best Writing On Science Blogs 2006: Anthologizing 50 of the best posts on science blogs. Finally, and I'm way, way, late in posting about this but I was honored to play a small part in helping to put together The Open Laboratory: The Best Writing On Science Blogs 2006. Kudos to Bora Zivkovic, tireless champion of all things science blogging, of A Blog Around The Clock who both organized and edited this collection of the 50 best (as suggested by you, and chosen by myself, Bora and 11 other wonderful bloggers) science blogging posts and to Lulu.com for sponsoring the project. I'll be adding an ad to the sidebar with a link to purchase the book directly from Lulu (at cost) but don't wait for me! Go buy it now. It's only $19.95 for the perfect-bound softcover. At 336 pages, that's only 6 cents a page and every single page has something well worth your reading. You can optionally buy the e-book edition for $8.69.

Oh, and one last thing... I intend (but I'm not promising) to return to blogging regularly but you can expect some more improvements (and maybe even a couple of major changes) to Neural Gourmet over the course of the next couple of months. I've already implemented a change to the way the site remembers log-ins and a 'Remember me' setting so you might want to log out, clear your NG cookies and log back in with the 'Remember me' box checked. This is still new so it might be buggy. As always, let me know if it is (better yet, let me know if you like it).

Updated: Just added graphical previews to all outbound links.read more »

Before I forget (again), I should remind you that a proper ice cream social is going on over at the Kingdom of Heathen where the Carnival of the Godless has landed this bi-week. And for those of you who might prefer something a little more savory, Cafe Heathen's got you covered there too. Head on over right now and sample this delicious mixed dish of, "cynicism, logical argument and circular debate."

Oh, did I forget to mention that I'll be hosting Carnival of the Godless on April 15, 2007? It's not too early to get your bribes donations in.

There's a mammoth new Carnival of the Godless at Debunking Christianity available for your early Sunday morning perusal, including a very nice post by Daniel Dennett.

Also, Richard has his call for submissions for the very first edition of Carnival of Citizens posted. Deadline is November 23, but be sure to visit to find out what this new blog carnival is all about. I think this will be one to watch -- and contribute to too!

Carnival of the Godless

No need to dress up in your Sunday best to enjoy the latest Carnival of the Godless which is being hosted at Grounded In Reality this time out. So after you've read the Sunday funnies, pour yourself another cup of coffee, grab a danish and settle in for some great infidel blogging. Included in this edition is a newbie to Carnival of the Godless and the blogosphere -- The Atheist Comedian. I'll be interested in seeing how this blog goes. I really like the idea, but I just don't know how many jokes you can make about communion wafers. Still, it's great to have comedy from a godless perspective.

Carnival of the Godless

I knew there was something missing from my life this weekend, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. A sense of purposelessness, of longing, of wanting to be part of something bigger... Oh! Now I remember. I forgot all about the 48th Carnival of the Godless at Deep Thoughts. Well, now that that's rectified I feel fulfilled.

Carnival of the Godless

You can find the answer to this, and many other questions you probably never knew you wanted the answers to at the Carnival of Bad History #8 hosted by David Beito at Liberty and Power.

Also, Carnival of the Godless should be up today at Revolvo Inritus. I hope Coralius didn't do something silly... like go to church! Shocked

Updated! 6:25PM -- Hah, I knew I only need make a semi-complaining post and I could cause Carnival of the Godless #47 to magically appear. Miracles and wonders! That's why you read Neural Gourmet, right?

Synapse being one of two of the new neuroscience carnivals, the other being Encephalon.
