The top navigation menu with the confusing terms can be thought of as navigating to specific categories of content at NG. Sometimes the items on the top menu are duplicated in the right hand navigation block when there are more choices. Here's what the arcane terms really mean:

return

This simply returns you to the Neural Gourmet front page

create

This one is pretty self explanatory. It allows you to create new content at NG, whether that be a blog entry, a poll, a forum topic or whatever. Some users are able to create more types of content than other users. Only registered and logged in users are allowed to create content.

discuss

This will take you to the forums at Neural Gourmet. Unregistered users can see most forum topics but you must register and log in to see forum discussions and post.

converse

Will allow you to chat in the Neural Gourmet chatbox, but only if you are registered and logged in.

collaborate

A special type of content here at Neural Gourmet are the collaborative books. Everyone is welcome to read the books but only book contributors and editors are allowed to post new chapters, pages or administer the books. Right now the books are the property of the Skeptics group. If you are a member of the Skeptic group and would like to contribute to the books, please PM tng and ask to be added to the contributors list.

commune

At Neural Gourmet, all registered and logged in users are able to create and participate in groups. A group provides a home page for like minded users where they can publish content related to their shared interest. Group members may choose to make their content available to the public or only to group members. If a group would like their own forum, please PM tng and ask to have a forum created for your group.

discern

Discern simply allows you to view the image galleries here at NG. This may be moved or removed soon.

discover

Neural Gourmet aggregates content and information from many websites representing a diverse range of interests every hour. discover takes you to the gateway for the aggregated content. This option is duplicated by the brain snacks item on the right hand navigation menu under which you will see more options whenever you choose discover

respond

This is just a simple feedback form which you may use whenever you are having troubles or wish to communicate directly with Neural Gourmet's owners.
