I'm not sure how this escaped my attention, but Dan Barker and Annie Laurie Gaylor of the Freedom From Religion Foundation have launched a new radio show, Freethought Radio, that is available through 92.1 FM The Mic (Madison, WI), live streaming, and podcast at the FfRF website. It sounds like they've got a great lineup too.
On their first show, which was this past Saturday, April 29 one of the featured guests was Penny Edgell, one of the researchers that conducted the infamous University of Minnesota survey that showed atheists to be the most distrusted group. Coming up we can expect:
Future shows will introduce various segments, including "Theocracy Alert," "Ask-an-Atheist," "Freethinkers Almanac" and freethought music by Barker, a professional musician and songwriter, and other freethinking performers. Listeners may call in comments or questions at the Progressive Hotline, 608/663-7291.
FfRF Co-President Laurie Ann Gaylor notes that they hope to expand into other regional markets as finances permit in an effort to counter the 24-7 religious broadcasts that can be heard throughout the country.
Well, this is great news. I hope to tune in tomorrow morning via 92.1 The Mic's stream. How about you? Oh, and don't forget about the Center For Inquiry's Point of Inquiry podcast either. PoI has gotten some wonderful guests in the first few months of their existence, including Daniel Dennet, Sam Harris, Paul Kurtz and Bill Nye the Science Guy.
