Small penis? Blame pesticides!

tng | 2006-05-01 09:30

Hey guys... Did you ever feel a little under-equipped? Zoologist Louis Guillette says you might be able to blame it on environmental contamination by pesticides:

A zoologist, Guillette has spent the last decade studying the influence of environmental contaminants on fetal development and reproductive systems of wildlife and humans, including the differences between alligators living in contaminated Florida lakes and those in cleaner ones.

He found abnormalities in sex organs, dramatic differences in egg-hatching rates and hormone levels.

Penis size of the animals from the polluted lake was smaller than animals from the less-polluted lake.

I'm not sure what to say. Being a newspaper article there's simply not enough information here to determine whether or not Guillette's work is sound or not but I think Guillette makes a decent case that there's cause for concern. In any case, pesticides are very much overused and they do cause problems for critters via runoff and groundwater contamination. It just makes good common sense not to use chemicals on your lawn or garden if you can.
