2052: (Ecclesiastics, Italy) Pope Gregory XVIII is arrested by Italian authorities for allegedly eating a Basque cardinal and his dog after bludgeoning them both to death.

2035: (Entertainment, Cuba) The Republic of Cuba is purchased by GE NewsCorp (US$412bn) to stage a massive multiplayer reality television show.

2028: (Technology, Worldwide) The global neural-to-web interface gateway collapses under the strain of too many people accessing pornographic material at once.

2022: (Natural world, Southern Ocean) A race of sea-faring apes Paranthropus nauticalis is discovered to be living underneath Antarctic ice sheets by Dutch and French scientists.

2017: (Culture, U.S.A.) The innovative music band The Pyrotes Bootee launch the Privateen music genre with their first U.S. chart number 1 ‘Bootee Lovurs’. The Privateen genre of music combines the two musical concepts of pirate sea-shanties and 1980/90s Euro synth-pop. The genre dominates popular music for the following eight years.
